On December 5, 2023, a Ukrainian-Polish scientific seminar “Socio-economic aspects of crisis management: international experience” was held, organized by Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and Poznan University of Technology.
The event was opened with welcoming remarks by Hanna Vlodarkevich-Klimek, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Management, PUT; Anatoliy Melnychenko, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Igor Sikorsky KPI; Marina Kravchenko, Dean of the Faculty of Management and Marketing, Igor Sikorsky KPI; Joanna Kalkowska, Director of the Institute of Management and Information Systems, Faculty of Engineering Management, PUT; Serhiy Voytko, Head of the Department of International Economics, Faculty of Management and Marketing, Igor Sikorsky KPI.
The leading co-organizer from Igor Sikorsky KPI was the Department of International Economics of the Faculty of Management and Marketing, and from Poznan University of Technology – the Department of Entrepreneurship and Business Communication of the Faculty of Engineering Management.
During the seminar, current issues and problems of effective crisis management in emergency situations, economic and social shifts were discussed. Significant attention was paid to discussing the strengths and weaknesses of Ukraine and Poland in risk management in crisis situations and the formation of entrepreneurial potential of local communities in Ukraine for post-war reconstruction.
Throughout the seminar, speakers and expert teams from Ukraine and Poland worked on three thematic directions:
– Behavioral aspects of crisis management by local communities;
– Crisis management at the local level: practical aspects;
– Development of entrepreneurial potential of local communities in the post-war context.
The event was attended by Vladyslav Kostiantynovych Khakhulin, acting head of the Bucha district council of the Kyiv region, and Serhiy Borysovych Pidlisnyi, head of the legal department of the Bucha district council of the Kyiv region, who presented a report on the “Concept of Socio-Economic Revival of the Bucha Community.”
The program of the event, led by the organizers Erdeli O., PhD, associate professor of entrepreneurship and business communication at Poznan University of Technology, and Voytko S.V., DSc, professor, head of the Department of International Economics at Igor Sikorsky KPI, included presentations from designated speakers from Poland and Ukraine. The event successfully attracted a wide audience, from students and faculty to business community representatives. The integration of different perspectives created a fertile environment for discussion and exchange of ideas regarding optimal approaches to crisis management and overcoming the problems of restoring affected regions in Ukraine.
